ASS. PROF. DR. ÖMER FAİK SAĞUN
- Born in 1970 in Rize.
- 1987-1993 graduated from İstanbul University, İstanbul Faculty of Medicine.
- 1993-1997 Specialized in İstanbul University, İstanbul Faculty of Medicine Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) (Otolaryngology). Also in USA specialized in Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT)(Otolaryngology) along with the scientific studies in the same US clinic.
- 1995-1998 Training and Seminars were taken at İstanbul University, İstanbul Faculty of Medicine Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT). Also completed seminars and training in USA from Prof. Dr. Stammberger who is one of the founders of FESS surgeries in the world (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery).
- During the time in US Clinic, served as an educator for the courses given to Turkish ENT doctor’s FESS (Sinus surgery).
- 1995-1998 Active member of İstanbul University, İstanbul Faculty of Medicine Allergy Association and Bionic Ear Association. Served as a part of
- Turkey’s first Bionic Ear Team.
- 1999-2000 worked with Prof. Dr. Mack Cheney (world-known rhinoplasty surgeon) at Harvard University Mass. General Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear Infarmy facial aesthetic clinic.
- 2001-2005 practiced at self-owned clinic.
- 2005 founder and the chairman of the board at Turkey’s first ENT Hospital Bosphorus Anatomica in Altunizade, İstanbul.
- Founder and a chairman of the board at Turkey’s first international ENT Hospital İstanbul Ent & Aesthetic Centre as of 2011.
- Advising & Managing several Turkish private hospital’s ENT department since 2013.
- First surgeon to use radio frequency device (Celon) in Turkey to perform snoring surgery. Also, among the rare doctors who have an athority to test polysomnography in Turkey.
- As of 2009, among the first doctors to use ultrasound during the rhinoplasty surgery in Turkey. Currently using ‘’CUSA Ultrasound’’ device which is much more developed and improved than the piezo ultrasound.
- Accumulated series of surgical patients since 20 years especially in Rhinoplasty surgery, nose surgery and snoring surgery.
- Attended National and International congress and conferences focusing on the latest technique and technologies in Rhinoplasty.
- Practicing in Ataşehir Clinic as of 2016.
- Over 20 years career and his love to his profession can be summarised with doctors own quote ‘’If I could be born again, I would definitely become a ENT doctor once again’’.
